Privacy

Daycare Atlas has no accounts, sets no cookies, shows no ads and keeps no record of what you search for. The only measurement is Cloudflare's cookie-free, aggregate page-view count.

What stays on your device

• Your location. If you press Near me, your browser shares your location with the page, which uses it on your device to sort providers by distance. It is never sent to us, never stored, and never written into a link. The map then moves to show your area, so Esri's tile server (below) receives requests for the map tiles around it, as it does for any area you view.
• Your search and filters. These are kept in the page address after the # sign so a view can be reloaded or shared. Browsers do not send that part of an address to any server.
• Conveniences you choose to use, such as a shortlist, are saved only in your own browser's storage. Clearing your browser data removes them.

What your browser contacts

• Our host, Cloudflare, delivers these pages. Like any web host it processes the requests your browser makes (which include your IP address), under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts page views in aggregate; it sets no cookies and doesn't follow you across sites.
• Esri supplies the map tiles: your browser requests the tiles for whatever area the map shows, which after Near me is the area around you.
• State open-data portals (data.wa.gov, data.ny.gov, data.cityofnewyork.us, data.colorado.gov, data.texas.gov, data.pa.gov) supply licensing records for some metros directly to your browser.
• The US Census Bureau geocoder is sent providers' street addresses — never anything about you — to place map pins the state didn't.
• Google, only if you press Look up on Google in a provider's details. That sends the provider's name and address to Google and shows Google Maps results, under the Google Privacy Policy, which applies to that feature and is incorporated here by reference. Separately, the Directions and web-search links (Find phone & website, Web search) on a provider's details and page open Google Maps or Google Search in a new tab with that provider's address or name; following one is a visit to Google under its own policy. Nothing reaches Google from this site unless you press that button or follow one of those links.

Children

This site is for parents and caregivers. It collects no information from anyone, including children.
